2008年8月17日下午，国际赛艇联合会主席丹尼斯•奥斯瓦尔德出席赛艇决赛颁奖仪式时为顺义奥林匹克水上公园志愿者题词并向志愿者代表周璇颁发了志愿者荣誉奖章，以表彰他们为赛事顺利进行所做出的贡献。题词中说：“The organization of an Olympic regatta requires a lot of efforts where the volunteers contribute a lot.
